Lest We Forget

This Remembrance Day, Secondary V students from Laurier Macdonald High School along with Mr. Vince Lacroce, Spiritual Community Animator in Region 1, organized Remembrance Day Celebrations at Dalkeith, Dante, General Vanier and their own school. The students created a presentation that describes the lives of their family members during World War II and how they fought for their freedom. The celebrations were in commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the Canadian Forces involvement in the Italian Campaign. Three Canadian War Veterans along with three Peacekeepers were present at the ceremonies and shared their heartfelt testimonies and memories of War.

The Massimo Pacetti, and several EMSB officials present at their school’s ceremony along with the Veterans and Peacekeepers. The students also got an added bonus of having workshop type events in the afternoon with a Peacekeeper present to share their story in more detail and answer any questions the students had.
