Sheep Heart Lab

When we were told that one of our experiments this year would be to dissect a sheep’s heart, the whole class reacted differently.   I felt sorry for the animal.  Though when the hearts were placed on the trays, my feelings of sympathy disappeared and I was very disgusted.  I had to take a moment out of the classroom because I was nauseous.  When I returned into the class and saw my classmates enjoying their time I felt slightly more comfortable.  By the end of the class, I was surprised how well I had done despite the fact that I did not participate in the procedure.  Overall I learned to overcome my fear.
